Spring is officially upon us!! I for one am so ready for it. I was definitely getting tired of the cold weather. So today I was going to share one of my favorite thing to do year round but especially during the spring and summer since its shorts and dress weather. About six months ago I discovered the magic of coconut oil. Seriously this stuff is amazing if you haven't seen all the benefits of it I suggest you seriously look into it you will be shocked! I literally use it for at least one thing everyday. However one of my favorite things to use it for is to make a scrub. I included my favorite way to do it below.
Ingredients:
Small bowl
Spoon
Coconut oil
Sugar/stevia (any sugar substitute should work)
Recipe:
First you need to take a spoon full of your favorite coconut oil (I found some at Aldi it was a little cheaper than Walmart and it was still organic) keep in mind what you make you should try to use all at once so you don't need much. Next put it in a microwave safe bowl for about 20-30 seconds (note:you don't want to get it to hot or it will melt the sugar. Get it just hot enough to make it a little softer). Add some sugar I never really measure this out just add a spoon full or two. That's it your done just use it and your skin will love you!
I really hope you like this it's definitely a cheaper alternative to buying scrubs not to mention you know exactly what is going into it!
I hope everyone has a great Easter if you have any questions or anything you would like for me to try please comment and let me know.
Until next time,
Brianna

Turning bar soap into body wash
Hey everyone,
Sorry it has been so long since my last post I've been slacking. So today I am going to share with you one of the best finds I have had yet and I am super excited to do so. Everyone loves body wash however I always hear of people not wanting to pay for it because of the cost. I completley understand where they are coming from, but now they don't have to say that anymore. Here is how it's done.
Materials:
3 bars of Dove soap ( dove works the best other brands seem to come out thicker you can always adjust the water ratio if you choose to do another brand)
6 cups of water
Cheese grater
Pot
Bowl
Containers to put soap in (I use old soap or shampoo bottles)
How it's done:
The first and hardest part is grating up all of the bars of soap. I honestly hate this part, but I promise it's worth it! Next place the shavings in your water on the stove. You should hear on medium until your soap dissolves (this can take a little bit). Next pour it in a bowl until it is cool enough to pour in a bottle. Note that the soap will thicken as it cools. Then all you have to do is pour it in your bottles. This makes roughly 48oz.
I hope everyone enjoys the post please let me know if you have any questions or have anythingn you would like me to cover!
Until next time,
Bri

Diy loose powder
Let's face is next to diamonds makeup is a close second to being a girls best friend. Unfortunately good makeup doesn't come cheap. Well a few weeks ago I was on Pinterest (let's face it I live on there) and I saw this recipe for DIY face powder and thought eh why not try it. My only regret is that I did not try this sooner. This is seriously the best and you should have most if not all the ingredients in your home. Try it and let me know what you think.
What you need:
4T Arrowroot or corn starch
Cocoa powder or cinnamon (I used cocoa so I'm not sure how the cinnamon does but I'm sure just as well)
Container to put it
Sifter if preferred
Recipe:
In a bowl mix together your arrowroot/corn starch and cocoa powder. I would start with 1t and add more until you reach your desired level. I put mine in a sifter but this is not necessary . Then put it in the container you plan to store it in.
Tip: I always moisturize really well before I put this on and it says on all day. You can also add more cocoa later if your skin tone gets darker.

Why you should never pay for couponing classes
So earlier today I was on Facebook and saw someone was advertising coupon classes for $10. Now while this is not a whole lot of money to some I was a bit puzzled I thought the whole point of couponing was to save money not spend it. I love couponing while I don't always do it I always love it when I do. I am will be honest I cheat I use the Internet to do all of the work for me. There are so many websites that will do all the match ups to save you time. One of the best websites I have found so far is www.krazycouponlady.com. It has virtually every store you could ask for and again it does the work for you. It's that simple now I'm all for people donating their lessons to people but I will never pay for lessons when Google and YouTube can teach you everything you need to know.

Never buy fabric softer again
So a few days ago I posted about laundry detergent well let's face it you can't have detergent without fabric softener. Again this is a recipe that I am able to use with my daughter and she has had no issues with it which is amazing. I've read about many different recipes on DIY fabric softener and this is the one I have been using for a while now and get great results out of.
What you will need:
An empty container (I used an old fabric softener container for this)
5 cups of HOT water
3 cups of white vinegar (I promise your clothes won't smell like vinegar)
2 cups of conditioner (whatever scent you want I always just get the cheap one for $1)
What to do:
Combine the hot water and conditioner in a big measuring cup or bowl until dissolved. Next you can pour your mixture into your container and add the vinegar. Close your container and shake it to mix it. There you have it it's that easy and cheap. I always use a downy ball however you can also just add this during the rinse cycle. I am looking into more natural ways but for now I am super happy with this. Please let me know what you guys think and what else you would like covered.

Laundry detergent
So being a stay at home mom is the most rewarding job there is, but let's face it it's hard work. Since my family is a single income home I am always am trying to think of ways to save money here and there and I have came up with some great things. In this post I'm going to talk about laundry detergent, and how cheap it can be. Laundry detergent is one of the most expensive things you have to buy for your home and it's for a job no one likes to do. About two years ago I was on Pinterest (I'm def a Pinterest junkie) and found this great recipe for laundry detergent that said you only had to spend around $30 a year so I had to try it. Can I just say how surprised I was at how much I loved it ever since then I have used nothing but this. Plus this lasts my family of 3 about a year and a half. Here is the recipe below please tell me what you guys think and your opinions on diy laundry detergent.
What you will need:
A bucket
Cheese grater
A spoon
A box of 20 mule team borax
A box of arm wand hammer super washing soda
2 bars of fels-naptha
A container of oxi clean ( I always buy the store brand of this)
2-3 containers of purer crystals ( the more you add the stronger the scent)
Directions:
The hardest part is grating up the fels-naptha bars after you do that part it's smooth sailing from here. I always a a little bit of each product and stir so that I make sure it's mixed well. After that you can put some in the purex crystals containers. It take about two table spoons per load luckily the cap on the crystals already has this marked just fill it to the second line. There it's that easy and you should have laundry detergent for a while.
* Note- when my daughter was a baby I used the purex crystals for baby, and had no problem with this irritating her skin. Keep in mind that every baby is different though.
